| Additional Information |
This is the second release in the Swed.u.s.h Connection series. Promoting an interesting musical hybrid called "Jazztronica", Austin, TX based DJ Chicken George compiles another stunning four track EP with innovative producers representing every corner of the US.
San Francsisco's J-Boogie produces for labels including Om and Ubiquity Records, mixing downtempo, hip-hop, soul, funk, latin, disco, dancehall, afrobeat and house into one spicy musical gumbo.
Since its founding in 2000, Illvibe Collective has been solidifying its eminence as Philadelphia's most prolific DJ crew. This five-man family of partyrockers and turntablists, whose combined experience totals over a half-century, is comprised of Statik, Panek, Phillee Blunt, Lil Dave and Skipmode. Philadelphia vocal sensation Lady Alma is the featured vocalist on the track.
Ocote Soul Sounds is the new project from Martin Perna (founder of Antibalas and longtime TV on the Radio collaborator), teaming up with guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada (ESL music, Aire Sol Records, Freestyle Records) of Grupo Fantasma and Brownout! This afro-beat latin funk track also features scratches by DJ Chicken George.
From vinyl manipulation on the turntables, to current production of jazz infused hip-hop tracks, NickNack is a true soundscraftsman. Austin producer/turntablist Nick Malkiewicz has worked hard to encompass a broad vision of ability, and a verbose sense of instrumentality, to match his already fruitful passion for music.
DJ Chicken George has compiled a new volume of his The Swed.u.s.h Connection series, with volume two focusing on a variety of US producers and music styles that should cause a stir in the downtempo and jazz club scene." - XLR8R Magazine
